This cover was made by the Portuguese artist Tiago Marinho. My favorite track on this album is "Compliance". Indeed, this cover depicts a post-apocalyptic London, similar to the setting shown in the artwork for their single "Sing for Absolution." The cover showcases demolished large stone statues resembling the band members' heads, with a group of rioters standing nearby. Each head is adorned with graffiti, displaying various song names and monograms scattered across them. Dom's head features graffiti such as "Liberation," "Will of the People," and "IX" (representing the album being their ninth release) in Roman numerals. Matt's head has graffiti including "Kill or Be Killed," "Compliance," "Verona," and part of "We Are Fucking Fucked," along with phrases like "Die" and "Fuck off." Chris's head bears graffiti with words like "Ghosts," "Won't Stand Down," and "Euphoria." Notably, this artwork doesn't include the Muse logo or the album name, making it the first since "Black Holes and Revelations" to omit these elements. Additionally, the music video for the single "Will of the People" connects to the storyline depicted in the album artwork.
